A standard windows setup file is provided.
P8 requires Microsoft Excel Version 2003 - 2010. Not tested with Excel 2013 or Windows 8.
In Windows 7, the default program location specified in the setup procedure: "C:/Program Files/P8 Urban Catchment Model..." must be moved outside of the "/Program Files" directory, e.g. to "C:/P8/..."
P8 also requires the Microsoft .Net Version 2.0 framework. If it is not already installed on your computer, it will be downloaded from the Internet and automatically installed during the P8 installation process.
If there is a previous version of P8 for windows installed on your computer, you must manually un-install it via the windows control panel before installing a newer version.
If user-created input files are stored in the program directory of the previous P8 version, those files should be copied to the new program directory. For example, if you created a case called 'mycase.p8c' with Version 3.1, stored that case in the default directory, and then upgraded to Version 3.2, you should copy that file from the Version 3.1 program directory (typically c:/program files/p8 urban catchment model/p8 version 3.1) to the new program directory (..../p8 version 3.2). You do no have to copy files previously stored in directories other than the default program directory.
Compatibility with input files created in existing and previous versions will be maintained in future versions.
